I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State. My primary focus since I began my work in 2010 is to help others improve their mental health and well-being. I work with individuals, couples, and groups. Clients have benefited from our work together because they find it meaningful having a judgement-free space in which they can share their thoughts and feelings. Treatment methods I may use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic. For individuals with overwhelming symptoms connected with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), I may use Exposure Therapy which has shown great success in treating symptoms of OCD.
I have worked with clients 18 years and older and specialize in working with older adults. While working at the Adelphi University Student Counseling Center, I learned the many issues facing young adults as they adjust to college life. Relationships, academics, substance use, sex, and many other issues bombard these clients and they have benefited from a supportive environment.
As a Fellow of the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education, I worked with older adults including veterans and survivors of the Holocaust. Aging in America is very different than it was even 20 years ago. Issues related to aging, such as retirement, loss, neglect, and depression need to be addressed and it is never too late to do so.
